The Turbigo thermoelectric power plant has a combined cycle unit with post-combustion, consisting of two gas turbines and one steam turbine, with a total installed capacity of 855 MW.

EMAS registration

The Turbigo thermoelectric power plant has an environmental management system in accordance with the EMAS Regulation, with the aim of implementing continuous improvement in environmental performance and publishing an environmental declaration. EMAS registration, according to Regulation (EC) no. 1221/2009, is one of the most sought-after and selective achievements in the environmental management of a production site. The power plant, which already has a UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 certified environmental management system, obtained EMAS registration number IT-000051 and validation of the Environmental Declaration. The Environmental Declaration is an official document, updated annually and validated by an accredited verifier outside the company, in which the results of environmental management, data on environmental performance and, through a programme, improvement targets are presented.
