Our Social Channels

The Iren Group shares institutional content through its website (www.gruppoiren.it), which serves as the primary repository for public information and communications directed at citizens and stakeholders.

We use social media for public interest purposes to inform, communicate, listen, and foster participation, discussion, and dialogue with citizens and users, embracing transparency and sharing. We are present on the following social media channels:

In line with the rules of peaceful coexistence and respect characteristic of social networks, we are committed to moderating discussions within our spaces.

Content

Through our social media channels, we publish various types of content, including updates on activities and services, press releases, information about initiatives and events, as well as institutional images and videos. We also use these channels to collect comments, requests, questions, criticisms, and suggestions.

To create this content, we use photos, infographics, videos, and other multimedia materials for which we hold the necessary usage rights. These materials can be freely reproduced but must always be credited to the original source channel.

Taking advantage of the unique features of these platforms, we occasionally share and amplify content and messages of public interest and utility created by third parties, after verifying the source's reliability.

Customer support

Currently, social media channels cannot be considered equivalent to the Customer Service contact centres of the Group.

Requests received through the various integrated messaging systems of these platforms will be redirected to the appropriate contact channels.

Moderation

The Iren Group's social media channels are spaces created for communication, information, and interaction.

Everyone can share their opinions respectfully and appropriately, basing their comments on verifiable facts and respecting others' views. Insults, foul language, threats, or behaviour that undermines personal dignity, minority and children's rights, or principles of freedom and equality will not be tolerated.

Sharing comments or content that are discriminatory or offensive towards other users, organisations, associations, companies, or those managing and moderating the social channels is strictly prohibited. Moderation by our channel administrators is solely intended to curb behaviour contrary to usage norms.

Specifically, posts, comments, or multimedia materials will be removed if they:

  • Contain political or propagandistic content;
  • Aim to promote commercial or profit-driven activities;
  • Use inappropriate language or a threatening, violent, vulgar, or disrespectful tone;
  • Include unlawful content or encourage illegal activities;
  • Contain offensive, misleading, alarming material, or violate third-party rights;
  • Disclose personal data or information that could harm or damage the reputation of third parties;
  • Feature obscene, pornographic, or otherwise offensive content that breaches common decency and user sensibilities;
  • Discriminate based on gender, race, ethnicity, language, religion, political opinions, sexual orientation, age, personal or social conditions;
  • Promote or support illegal activities, violate copyright, or misuse a registered trademark;
  • Are classified as spam.

We therefore reserve the right to remove any content that violates this social media policy or applicable laws. In severe cases, especially when shared rules are breached, we will delete the content, ban users from our spaces, report them to the hosting social network’s moderation filters, and, if necessary, to the appropriate authorities.

Privacy

Any sensitive data shared in comments or public posts on the Iren Group's social media will be removed. Data shared by users through private messages sent directly to the channel administrators will be processed in compliance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 679/2016) and the harmonised national legislation (Italian Privacy Code 196/2003 and subsequent amendments).
